When we visited Haiti in April 2009, we stayed at the Hospice St. Joseph while we were in Port au Prince. The hospice has a clinic for women and children and it provides hospice care for children who have been released from local hospitals but are not well enough to return home. They also provide scholarship money and assistance to children so they can attend school. They also allow people to rent rooms while they visit Haiti, which is why we stayed there. The photos below are of the Hospice. The top one is ofmy sisters and father, relaxing after a long day of driving. The bottom one is the hallway to our rooms.
Unfortunately, the Hospice St Joseph was destroyed in the earthquake and 3 employees were killed. Donations to the Hospice will help them rebuild so they can continue with their work in Port au Prince.
Another group that has been helping Haiti for over 20 years is Partners in Health. They have a number of hospitals and schools in Haiti.

The following are more photos from our trip to Haiti. Most of our trip was spent in Hinche, a small town, and Jacsonville, a small villiage. Both of these were not physically affected by the earthquake.
